Shayna began dancing at age three and hasn't stopped since. She studied ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and even belly dancing at Marilyn School of Dance in LaCrosse, WI. It was during her time there that she had the opportunity to perform and take classes in Russia as part of an exchange program. After high school she continued her training while attending Millikin University in Decatur, IL. During her senior year at Millikin, Shayna auditioned and was selected to be a featured dancer in a local CW (formally WB) commercial. Upon graduation, Shayna moved to Chicago where she has performed for independent choreographers at various dance festivals including SoleStance, Dance Chicago, and Rebound Dance. Just this year, Shayna rediscovered her Show Choir roots and had the opportunity to choreograph the Mt. Zion High School Les Femmes from Mt. Zion, IL. Aside from performing with IDC, she is also a member of Matter Dance Company. Shayna is going on her fifth season with IDC and second season as a member of the Artistic Cooperative. She wants to thank her family, friends, and anyone else who has helped her along her journey.
