DANCER
Rachel has been dancing since she could walk and was thrilled to find her way to Innervation in 2007. She grew up in Kansas City as a ballet bun-head under Kathy and Dennis Landsman, and attended summer musical theater camp (Camellot Academy) for thirteen years. She majored in Comparative Literature and minored in French and Dance at Haverford/Bryn Mawr College where she worked with dancers and choreographers from such companies as Philadanco, Headlong Dance Theater, and Pennsylvania Ballet. Since arriving in Chicago in 2005, she has danced with GI Alliance, Nicole Gifford Dance, and IDC, and spent one year on the Co-op as the resident wordsmith. As for other wordsmithery, she's spent her professional career shaping the minds of your children by working in the textbook industry, including a three-year freelance stint, and now at National Geographic School Publishing. If you're reading this after June 2010, she considers herself to be the luckiest gal in the world, since she'll be married to the perfect-for-her man (and one of IDC's biggest fans). |
